Overview

This overview highlights the impactful work of the Horyal Humanitarian Foundation (HHF) through its Kurban campaigns, which distribute sacrificial meat to vulnerable populations across Somali regions during Eid dyas. Below is a summary and insights of the key activities.

Key Activities

The key activity involves animal acquisition, slaughter, packaging, and distribution to areas with the most acute needs.

Scope: Approximately 2,400 large animals are sacrificed annually, equivalent to 16,800 individual shares.

Target Beneficiaries: Over 108,000 people across seven regions benefit from the Kurban distributions.

Regional Distribution of Shares:

  • Kismayo: 3,500 shares
  • Jowhar: 5,950 shares
  • Abudwak: 1,400 shares
  • Tredisho Camps: 2,100 shares
  • Kahda Camps: 1,400 shares
  • Gubadey: 1,400 shares
  • Balad: 1,050 shares

Unique Contributions:

In Hirshabelle State Jowhar district, HHF stands out as the sole organization conducting Kurban distributions, assisting over 27,739 vulnerable people who otherwise would not receive this support.

Impact:

The campaign not only alleviates immediate hunger but also strengthens social solidarity, particularly in areas where HHF is the only active organization providing this service.
